Tutoring is in very high demand to today’s world. Given the state of the economic condition of the country, parents and students alike are realizing the importance that education has in determining a successful career path. Tutoring is an option that should be considered at all levels of education, particularly is a student is having trouble grasping the concepts or ideas of a particular subject matter. Tutoring is designed to be a session that occurs between the student and tutor on a one-on-one basis. Sometimes, tutors may be responsible to helping a group of students, but the numbers of these groups will remain small. One of the successful aspects about tutoring is the fact that students are able to receive the personal attention they may require in order to fully digest the material being taught. In a traditional classroom lecture, a teacher may easily be in charge of a group of students that can range from 15-50. The word tutor is derived from the Latin word tutor, which means “a watcher, protector, or guardian.” However, in Modern English, a tutor can generally be referred to as a private instructor. A tutor is usually someone who teaches a person on a personal or one-on-one basis, or a small-group of people where the main focus is to provide for more individual attention to each student. In many instances, tutors have no formal training or license to formally teach in a classroom setting. More often than not, tutors are other students who are willing to volunteer their time to other students to help them in their studies or prepare them for an exam. In many cases, tutors can be hired for money to assists students, but those who are paid for their services often have a background as former professors, thus giving them a professional grade worth paying for their time.
